Ministry Vision Statement:
This ministry was born out of a desire to serve the urban community of Jackson, TN. We believe God has called us to become aware to the needs that exist all around us. Our prayer is that our students will not simply get help with their homework but that God will develop and nurture their faith so that they experience life to the full in Jesus.
Purpose:
Skyline’s Mentoring Program is designed to minister to 1st to 6th grade students. We aim to produce positive academic change, equip students with life-skills, and create an environment of spiritual growth. We want to enter the lives of our students and their families through one-on-one relationships between mentors and students. Our prayer is that this ministry will be a step in the direction of breaking down walls we have created with racism, generational poverty, segregation, and violence.
Mission:
Our intention is to approach each family with enough humility to learn before we teach and listen before we talk. We intend to learn from and with our students and their families as we partner with God to be a source of stability and hope. In mentoring, we are serving God and we are committed to holistically serving our students and we are trusting God to do the rest. May God be glorified with every aspect of this ministry!
