“Do not accuse a man for no reason--when he has done you no harm.” Proverbs 3:30 “Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.” “A scoundrel and villain, who goes about with a corrupt mouth, who winks with his eye, signals with his feet and motions with his fingers, who plots evil with deceit in his heart--he always stirs up dissension.” Proverbs 6:12-14 “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.” Proverbs 6:16-19 “To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.” Proverbs 8:13 “The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.” Proverbs 10:11 “Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.” Proverbs 10:12 “He who conceals his hatred has lying lips, and whoever spreads slander is a fool. When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value. The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment.” Proverbs 10:18-21 “The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out. The lips of the righteous know what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.” Proverbs 10:31-32 “With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape.” Proverbs 11:9 “Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed.” Proverbs 11:11 May God help us as we communicate with one another — to the praise of His glory! — Bob Clark 3/23/2004
