The Gospel In A Word Is "Love"

   
   

Here are some passages that I have been meditating on this week as a result of singing the first verse of that old song — “Love, love, love, love/ the gospel in a word is love/ love your neighbor as your brother/ love, love, love.” Let the word of God pour over your heart and refresh you!

“Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” Psalm 36:5

“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.” Psalm 103:8

“Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.” Proverbs 10:12

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you’” Matthew 5:43-44

“By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:35

"If you love me, you will obey what I command.” John 14:15

“. . .God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” Romans 5:5

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love..” Romans 12:10a
