Listen To Jesus

Jesus was transformed right before their eyes. His face was shining like the sun. His clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. His glory was right there for them to see. Peter, James, and John had gone up on the mountain with Jesus. He began to pray. The next thing they knew they not only were dealing with the transfiguration of Jesus, but also with the appearance of Moses and Elijah. The law, the prophets, and Jesus right there before their eyes.

There was conversation about Jesus’ exodus, awkward words about three shelters, the mist of the cloud, and then, the voice. “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” Suddenly they were alone with Jesus again. There was plenty to chew on during the descent. God has chosen Jesus, His Son. “Listen to Him.”

Listen to Jesus! Hear His voice?

“But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.”

"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

"If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her. . . .Go now and leave your life of sin."

"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

“May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

“By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

"I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.”

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.”

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
